How do I Cut and Light a Cigar?

The first thing to do, is to closely examine the head of the cigar. Look to see how far the cap (the rounded tobacco used to seal the end) extends down the barrel. On a standard cigar, this is usually between 1/4 - 3/8. This will be your limit as to how far down you should cut. A cut above the cap line will open up 75%-85% of the cigar's end. You need the cut small enough to keep the cigar from unraveling, but large enough for an easy draw. The cutter needs to be sharp, really sharp. You can experiment with different cutters, the guillotine, double bladed guillotine, punch cutter, v-cut cutter, or the cats eye cutter. We do not recommend cigar scissors. Always Remember: SHARP.
